Lagu mars ini ditetapkan oleh Kongres sebagai Lagu Mars Nasional Amerika Serikat pada 11 Desember 1987.^[1] Lagu mars ini sering dimainkan pada perayaan Hari Memorial, Hari Veteran, Hari Kemerdekaaan, dan kesempatan lainnya di Amerika Serikat.
